The person behind the cards
From comic to card game.
I’m Ian Corrao. I started The Miras 9 comic around 2016 as a tongue-in-cheek take on sci-fi and fantasy pop culture. It brought together the things I love: drawing, creating worlds and characters, and telling stories with depth and a sense of humor.
Over a span of ten years, Miras 9 has taken several forms, from the webcomic to an animated series concept I pitched in 2019. Each iteration helped shape its characters, designs, and lore.
Now it has a home in a trading card game, with plenty of inspiration from one of my longtime favorites, the Star Wars CCG. It’s a way to keep creating new characters and stories while giving players a chance to explore them through play.

AI images helped me get the card concepts onto the table. My goal is to replace all AI art in the main game with human-created artwork. Here’s what that looks like so far.
